Swamp Thing comes to Gotham City with a mysterious request for Batman—but these longtime allies will have to make up for lost time and work together in order to confront a growing threat that only they can stop!

Batman 2016 #23 eBook Tom King Mitch Gerads

Each time I read a new "Batman" by Tom King, I think he couldn't possibly top it.

Once again, I was wrong.

This is a superb character study of a DC character whose comic book title I rarely read, as well as a compelling who dunnit.

The visuals are just as compelling as the story, paricularly the panel of Alfred, the Wayne butlerr, getting down on all fours with a toothbrush to scrub the mansion's carpet clean of Swamp Thing's careless droppings staining it. Now that's service!

The ending is unexpected, but fits nicely into the new DC Rebirth focus on family. As this comic book proves, the unresolved relationships we forge as a family unit can haunt us for the rest of our lives.

Batman 2016 #23 eBook Tom King Mitch Gerads Reviews

This is going to be a fun series to read.... Swamp Thing kills the murderer of his dad... right in front of Batman... not cool...
Such a fun and well written issue. It is a murder mystery with Batman and Swamp Thing, what more could you ask for?! Tom King is one of the best writers out there right now, in my opinion, and he continues his strong run on Batman here. Can be read as a stand alone issue by the way, and the art is also really great as well. Kite Man makes an appearance which will always be welcome in my book.
